Dear friends of Pärnu Film Festival!

We are proud to announce that our XXXV festival will take place as scheduled – during the second and the third full week in July.

We’ll screen docs in Pärnu from July 12th through July 18th.

From July 19th through July 25th, the awarded docs will be shown in other towns, villages and islands of Estonia.

Today, we are ready to inform You that on air of the Estonian TV2 will compete five docs on common topics CHALLENGE.

The TV-audience is called to vote as on Eurovision for the best doc which will be awarded with Estonian People’s Award on Saturday, July 12th, at noon.

Directors of these five docs are invited to attend the festival in person.

All those who are unable to travel to Pärnu, they are welcome to follow the award ceremony on ETV2 at the same evening.

All these masterpieces will be aired on ETV2 at 21.30 (-2 GMT)

12.07 EARTH IS BLUE AS AN ORANGE (Ukraine)

13.07 LATVIAN COYOTE (Latvia)

14.07 CLOWN’S PLANET (Spain, Italy, Greece)

15.07 THE WHALE FROM LORINO (Far East of Russia)

16.07 THE SCHOOL OF HOPE (Morocco)

17.07 AWARD CEREMONY (happens at 12.00, broadcast at 21.30))

In the Festival Palace in Pärnu, there will be screened about 50 documentaries.

Latest by June 14th, we’ll publish the list of other docs which will compete for the best artistic achievement,

the best doc on survival of indigenous peoples, the best scientific recording, the best doc for kids etc.

Pärnu is the summer capital of Estonia thanks to our famous beach and very warm sea water in July-August.

It creates problems for finding last-minute accommodation.
