The Nazi anthropologists from the Institut fur Deutsche Ost Arbeit had an important task to do – they were to find representatives of the pure Aryan race in Poland which was annexed by the Third Reich. The scientists went through hundreds of villages, and took thousands of photographs, tests and measurements in order to find Aryans, lost in the sea of Polish blood. The pseudo-scientific documentation has, with passing time, acquired artistic and emotional value. Beautiful portraits, everyday scenes. The heroes of the film reach back to wartime in their memories. Looking at the photos they remember dramatic events from years ago.
